Philip E. Murray, Jr. is a graduate of Boston College (B.S., cum laude) and Boston College Law School (J.D.), where he served as a Staff Member and Editor of the Boston College Law Review as well as an Editor of the U.C.C. Reporter Digest.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Murray was honored to receive a one year appointment to serve as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court, following which he has practiced as a trial lawyer with a focus on civil litigation and a particular emphasis in the areas of professional and medical liability, initially with the firm of Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney in Boston, and then with the firm of Murray & Bertrand, P.C.
Mr. Murray is admitted to practice before the state courts in Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals, Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is a Member of the Massachusetts Bar Association (Civil Litigation Section), a Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, and has served as a Hearing Committee Member and currently serves as a Pro Bono/Reduced Fee Panel Member for the Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court.
Mr. Murray is “AV Preeminent” Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, has been selected as a Massachusetts/New England Super Lawyer annually since 2005, and is listed as a Best Lawyer in The Best Lawyers in America.
